CRAU History and Impact:
Personality: Simple and pure is the best way to describe Ruby. She's an honest and earnest girl out to do the right thing for the right reasons. When asked why she wanted to attend the worlds best academy for training huntresses and huntsman she said she wanted to do it to help people. So she goes out of her way to do just that. Whether it's helping a friend in need, stepping in to fight monsters threatening a town or fighting wicked criminals, Ruby Rose is there to lend a hand.
Ruby is a bundle of energy and excitement, often acting on her first impulse before thinking things through. Was she just saved by a person doing her dream job? You bet she wants an autograph. Is that a brand new giant monster roughly twenty times the size of her? Her first impulse is to load her sniper rifle and take that thing down. First day of the new semester with her friends? Never fear she's just made a binder full of ideas to make it the best day ever.
This endless energy has a habit of backfiring on her. First impressions with people can lead them to believe she's an airhead or that she doesn't take things seriously. When she's bored or not engaged in a situation she's dealing with she tends to goof off or show off. During her initial entrance test to get into Beacon she caused more than one rough situation by not looking before she leaped. Not to mention her tenancy to make jokes during class instead focusing on her work load.
Ruby's honest to the point of being fairly blunt. When her friends Blake and Penny reveal truths about themselves that most would judge or find bizarre about them, she takes it stride. She doesn't hesitate to let them know that it doesn't matter, she's their friend and she'll be there for them no matter what. When her Uncle starts to doubt their current mission she tells him straight up that they're continuing on with or without his help, but makes it very clear they would gladly keep him around. During her initial conversations with Weiss she's quick to call out the other girl for lashing out at her.
When the going gets rough, Ruby never stops. Most notably at the fall of Beacon where despite the death and disappearance of friends, her sister viciously wounded and her dreams practically trampled before her. She gets up and starts a new quest to set things right. She knows that things wont be the same again but that doesn't mean that she can't make the next better than what today is. She can't stop. She won't give up just because the odds are stacked against her. It's shown again after it's revealed that Ozpin doesn't actually have a plan to defeat the big bad of the series. All hope seems lost for the group but Ruby urges them to carry on with their mission, even if they don't have a plan right now. They'll find a way to pull through.
Ruby is fiercely protective of all those around her, often putting the needs of others above her own. During the first season she's quick to tell her friend Penny to stay back when she's not sure if she can defend herself. When Pyrrha is about to be attacked in the arena during the third season Ruby is the first to jump in and defend her even though she's without her proper weapon. After both Penny and Pyrrha die in the series These feelings only intensified after the fall of Beacon where she arrived too late to save Pyrrha in her fight against Cinder. When Qrow is battling Tyrian she refuses to let him to fight alone. After he's injured by Tyrian she ruthlessly cuts of his tail.
It's not just Ruby's loved ones that she feels this protective for, she does her best to help anyone along the way. While travelling to Haven she would change signs along the road to warn people of danger or bandit camps. When the group has a chance to escape Argus to make their way to Atlas she convinces them to stay behind and protect the city when it's attacked by Grimm.
Ruby's life goes through a large shift when Beacon falls. Two of her best friends are killed and her sister is maimed. Yang's injury probably brings about the biggest shift in Ruby's character. Throughout the earlier volumes of the series Yang is an emotional pillar for Ruby, someone she can hold onto when she's uncomfortable with a situation. Yang completely shuts down after the loss of her arm leaving Ruby to fend for herself. She ends up leaving her sister behind to start off on a new quest and builds up new confidence in herself while travelling. All the while she writes back to her sister in hopes that she'll come and join them again. The second is Pyrrha's death which does leave Ruby incredibly disheartened to the point that she has dreams where she hears Pyrrha's voice. However she uses this pain to propel herself forward. She knows that Pyrrha died fighting a battle she couldn't win to protect those who couldn't help themselves. Ruby decides instead of wallowing in sadness that she'll carry on that resolve for her fallen friend.
Personal/Moral Code
- Ruby's not above bending the rules for the greater good so long as no one is harmed in the process. She was willing to commite grand theft airship from a military facility but turned that ship right around when the city of Argus came under attack.
- Completely willing to put her life on the line to protect her friends, family or those who can't defend themselves regardless of the odds.
- Trusting but not to a fault. Ruby would like nothing more than to put her trust into all those around her, but she'll be cautious if she's learned she's been lied to.
Insecurities/Personal Demons
- Ruby's haunted by the deaths of her friends Pyrrha and Penny. Occasionally having dreams about them or visions of their death distracting her.
- Ruby tends to bottle up her own darker emotions only really showing how hurt she may be when provoked.
- She tends to act more on impulse and emotion rather then thinking things through on the first attempt.
Abilities/Powers/Weaknesses & Warping:
Semblance
Taken from RWBY Wiki. "Semblance is the manifestation of one's innate and personal power as an ability unique to each individual, with the effects varying greatly from user to user." Ruby's Semblance, Petal Burst, Ruby can use her Semblance to move at inhuman speeds that are nearly too fast for the eye to catch, making it appear as if she can teleport. She uses this ability in combat to dodge attacks, disorient enemies, hastily retreat and quickly counterattack. Her Semblance is also capable of providing limited flight capabilities.
(This is likely to change as the current volume wraps up. It has been mentioned that it isn't what it seems but no details on just what that means yet.)

Aura
Taken from the wiki again "Aura is the manifestation of one's soul in the RWBY universe, and can be used for a wide range of abilities." Ruby's Aura coats her body in a shield and protect her when unlocked. Also able to slowly regenerate wounds
Silver Eyes
Ruby's unique eyes have the ability to let loose a blinding flash of light that can either petrify or vaporize the Creatures of Grimm where she is from. She is aware of how this ability works but cannot fully control it yet.

Crescent Rose
Ruby's Scythe. It is capable of transforming into a high caliber sniper rifle. Shots can be fired from either Scythe or Sniper Rifle form. It has three forms. Scythe, Rifle, and a compact storage form. It can be loaded with various different types of magical ammunition to produce other effects.
Combat
Ruby uses a combination of her speed and weapon to great effect in battle. Attacking at both close and long range while never staying in one place for very long. She is incredibly reliant on this style of fighting though. She possesses minimal hand to hand fighting skills and is only just learning to hold her own without her weapon in hand.
Power Warping
Semblance: A limit on how many times she can do it in a day. Make her have to think more carefully about it's use.
Aura: Can only work on a specific limb or body part at a time. Healing works slowly and only works on superficial or minor injuries.
Silver-eyes: Not really sure how to adjust this one. It only works on the soulless in her own world. Open to suggestions or leaving it as is.)

Relic of Knowledge (Magic lamp with Genie capable of answering 3 questions in a century. It's only got one use left. Ruby isn't likely to use this outside of her own world so it's mostly around for decoration.
Perhaps it could answer mundane questions about the town on a monthly basis?
Or provide an answer to a question at the cost of the character forgetting something else?
Or it could be completely nerfed.
Open to suggestions here as well)

A crate full of ammunition for her Crescent Rose. If a crate is too much then scaled down to something of more reasonable size with the same contents.
