Ruby giggled feeling her hair get ruffled by the shortcake. She grinned and pushed his nose away from her before looking back to Oscar.
"Yeah. That's what I thought too. I'm just glad we're safe."
She gives a thoughtful little nod and as he describes the gardening situation and couldn't think of any argument there. hey still had the time to work on it. The next little bit gets a curiously little sparkle out of her eyes.
"Help each other out? I'm game. Why don't we start with your side of things... Which may mean getting my work shop up and going first." She says silver eye glancing down at where his leg should be.
It was impossible not to notice the words that remained unspoken-- and Oscar grinned in relief. Somehow, knowing that Ruby knew made his coming task that much easier.
"Yeah, you're right," He said, bashfully running a hand through his disheveled hair. "Ruby. I, uh... Could you help me put together a prosthesis? You're the best engineer I know, and I trust you."
Ruby had been seen a few people go through this enough times that she knew when someone was ready to start moving forward again, herself included now that she had lost her eye. She grins at the bash look and takes a step back.
"I'd love to- I don't think I'm the best at this around- but I've cobbled up enough know how to figure it out." She says rubbing at her arm nervously.
"But I'd love to- You deserve it after what... Well Salem put us through. I want that trust to be well earned."
"You're my big sis!" Oscar declared, grinning. "You don't need to earn anything-- you already have my trust."
She had from the beginning, the moment she had accepted him into the fold with only a few cursory questions and had chosen to guide him instead of judge him. Oscar reached for her hand, beaming.
"I've gotten some info, too. If we work together, maybe we can figure out the parts you're confused about. Either way, I'm sure it'll be perfect."
