He'd hope he could focus on the good parts, but he also knows his penchant for wallowing in his all-consuming sadness. [She know he doesn't have the reserves of optimism she has. Which is why she really hopes if one of them were to return home, he'd be the one to go first. At least spare him from the pain of losing her like that when he had already come so far. She has no idea how she'll take it if it were to happen like that, but the self sacrificing part of herself thinks it would be better that way.]
