FUCK! The hell?
Look. I'm going to try and keep her away from you guys for a bit.
We'll see if that works, because she's freaking out something fierce.
I don't want this to escalate if I can help it, but part of me is seriously afraid it will.
I know you don't really have a reason to trust either of us right now.
But I don't want this to explode in either of our faces anymore than it already has.
Are you alright, Red?
Aside from the obvious.

[ blake steps into the doorframe of the game room, painkillers and a can of soda in hand. she knows ruby is... doing as well as could be expected, but it's still... well, regardless.
she raps her knuckles against the frame. ]
Hey. [ she holds up the offering. ] I'm not interrupting, right?

Hey. [ she holds up the offering. ] I'm not interrupting, right?
[Taped to your door there is a BRIGHT pink envelope. And inside is this note.]

[You get a red and black box *though smaller than Eda's* of peanut butter cup candies with a drawing of an anime Luz saying, "Thanks for having my back and being a great friend! Happy Valentine's Day!"]
[Ruby sneaking into his and Clover's place to raid the pantry (both the regular one and the infinite magic one she'd installed there) was nothing new, of course, but sometimes Ruby liked to change up her strategies, keep her uncle(s) on their toes. It only stood to reason things would be no different now, especially with her brushing up on her skills since recovering from her injury.
And sometimes, the regular pantry just isn't a challenge, when there are other snack-hiding locations throughout the place (much, perhaps, to Clover's chagrin) to investigate for. In fact, is that glitter of silver through that ajar bedroom door a bag of a certain brand of chips...?
...It's not. Closer inspection reveals it to be a Scroll, like they kind they had in Remnant, shoved in a box under the desk that just so happened to catch the light off the emblem on her belt. Poking out from underneath appears to be a single DVD case, labeled with Summer and the girls' names in Tai's handwriting. Before she has a chance to investigate further on her own, a familiar figure appears in the doorway. He doesn't look like he's upset, though--just, perhaps a bit tired. He'd put the scroll away as soon as he realized what it was, unprepared to reopen those wounds while Deerington was so occupied with the business of creating new ones, but now that Ruby has already seen them, there's little point being cagey. And besides that, she deserves to see them.
He has spent so much time grieving for her mother on his own, trying to be strong for the girls. Perhaps it's well past time they do so together.]
...They showed up in my basket some time ago. From Sodder, probably. [He admits, a flash of guilt crossing his features] I meant to show you sooner, but...with everything that's gone on lately, I forgot
[He takes the box to the bed and invites her to sit down with him, handing over the Scroll for her to take.]
Wanna do the honors?
[He genuinely has not gotten past the home screen, where he realized who this belonged to. He's been afraid of what memories he might find there, and how much they might hurt. He'd like to believe he's ready now.]

[In the days since Martin's death, Bucky has kept coming back to the description of the girl. He has no idea now, if she really did have anything to do with what happened, or if it had all been a lie woven by the smiling manipulator.
It's probably a lie.
Probably.
It's that margin of doubt that leaves him unable to just walk away from it. He has to know. And so he seeks her out, slipping away from Steve while the man is sleeping and sleuthing on the Fluid until he finds someone matching her description. It gives him a name, and a name gives him an address. He has no idea how he's going to handle this, but he's armed to the teeth and ready to react in a moment if she starts to sing.
He watches through the windows for a few hours, waits until he's sure nobody else is there, and then approaches her as she either enters or exits the house, voice low.]

Hey, uh, Ruby? You got a sec? I need to talk to you about something.
[Martin has been mentally recovering from the horrific guilt of what his Spidery self had got up to on top of wanting nothing to do with the rest of the world thanks to Jon's disappearance, but he knows he needs to send this text. And it is text. He's not sure he's up to talking still.]
Hi, Ruby. We don't really know each other, but this is Martin Blackwood, one of Ange's friends. We met that one time with the spiderweb book?
I wanted to reach out an apologize to you if you've been at all accosted, attacked, or harassed by anyone who said they spoke to me recently. There was some sort of other me running around town being horrible. He directed someone who was really paranoid toward you with lies and I hope you didn't get hurt because of it.
If you did, I'm sorry. If there's anything I can ever do to try to make up for this, please let me know.

Hey, kid.
[ Wow this is uncomfortable. Eda sucks in a breath, steeling herself. ]
Uh, I owe you an apology. For attacking you. And putting you in a bubble. And... yeah. Wasn't in my right mind. Dunno what that was, but it wasn't me. That lady, she-- I didn't like her, any more than you did.
[ Okay, way to deflect, Eda. She shakes her head, looking through the camera with a grimace ]
But it still was me? Either way. I'm, uh. Sorry. That I hurt you.

[Sometime after Ruby is done being a Doggo, she will find a small box on her front step. On the box is a colorful, hand-drawn card.]

[Inside, they will find two different kinds of cookies wrapped in colorful plastic, a coloring book with some crayons, a puzzle, and a small bag of jellybeans! Heard you had a poopy month! Hope you feel better!]

[ The past few days have been nothing short of panic. For all of the constant awful things that happen in this place, most of it is - to some level - tolerable to Ange. There's a whole lot of shit she can just pokerface her way through, if not force her way through with sheer determination.
But she worries easily about friends. And even more easily about one special friend - someone who has gone beyond just being a friend. Nothing about this whole situation had sat right with her. Being unable to contact Ruby, being absolutely unable to find the other girl even as she went around town to try and look for her. Not being able to directly get in touch with Ruby's family either.
But even between all the fussing about Ruby and near-sleepless nights she's been having, there's no way that Ange expects the person at the door once she opens it to be-- ]
Ruby?!
[ Ange doesn't even move yet. She just stands there, still holding the door open, staring at Ruby as if she's seeing a dead person walk again.
Is she just hallucinating this since she's that worried about Ruby? Since she's so desperate to see the other again, to know she's okay?
She can feel her heart freeze up mid-beat, her breath feeling like it's stuck in her chest. Like she can't move or do anything other than just stare at the other girl. ]

[Is this ridiculous? To ask someone in their late-teens to build them a weapon? Yes. But the people from Remnant are quite skilled at their jobs and, well, Owen is not like them. It's only a matter of time where he will have to protect others, and that piddly little pistol he owns will not cut it anymore.
So, here he is, phoning Ruby in.]
Uh, yeah. Ruby? Dr. Harper here. I want to ask you about your um…weapon builds.

He had heard of a concept called 'Murphy's Law' since arriving in Deerington, and he recognized the concept from his time on the road with Ruby and her extended team. Anything that could go wrong did, in the worst possible way.
It was merely life alongside Qrow Branwen-- and had they remained in Remnant, Oscar could have dealt with the chaos that had descended upon their lives better. But, after Blake left, two people in their household lost limbs, and the entire house was destroyed... Oscar was starting to wonder if they weren't dealing with a case of Murphy's Revolving Door.
He was tired. At least they had Ozpin and his massive mansion to fall back on. The pets were safe, and they had recovered the most important of their belongings. Still, Oscar recognized danger when he saw it, and he knew that life would only get harder before it got better.
There wasn't time to wait anymore.
He had dealt with the crutches long enough that he could make it to Ruby's room with minimal frustration, and Oscar waved awkwardly once he caught her attention.
"Hey. Do you have a few minutes?"

Ruby was still getting settled into the new house. She had managed to salvage some of her things from home and was trying to sort out what was going down to her new work shop and what was staying in her room.
It's pretty easy for her to hear Oscar coming from down the hall given the state he's in. She quickly sets down what she's doing and returns that wave with one of her own.
"Of course. What's going on?" She asks in a chipper tone, as though they hadn't lost their house in the last few days.
"How are you holding up?"

[ So the network is being a total mess. At first Ange doesn't quite understand what everyone is talking about, but then she goes back to the post where she talked with Glitch about what happened to him, and..
.. well, it's easy to see what happened there. And while Ange's interest in the whole idea or the opposition to it is close to heading into negative percentages, the fact that it is these people from Ruby's world instigating it does stick out to her.
So when she finds both her and Ruby having a free moment, maybe while hanging out together in Ange's room, she can't help but look over at the other girl and ask. ]
Hey. Are all adults from your world like this? [ .. well, Qrow doesn't really seem like it, but.. who knows. Ange doesn't know him well enough yet to tell. ] Or did Deerington just happen to drag in the two people most likely to try and turn this whole place upside down?

[Ruby had been keeping an eye on the network too and there was a sickening sort of twist in her stomach at the thought of Ironwood trying to uphold any sort law and order.
Ozpin getting involved sat weirdly with her too. Their relationship had improved leaps and bounds but it didn't change the fact that he kept his agenda close to the chest and manipulated other people to get it done.
Those thoughts were mostly distracting her but she had a comic book in front of her face to try and hide it.
It wasn't until Ange asked that question that she lowered the book and gave a half hearted laugh.] [Okay. There's a lot to unpack there.]
I'd like to say no, but there's a lot of them that are.
Oz... I think has everyone's best interest in mind, but he's got a weird way of doing it.
I don't really like the idea of General Ironwood doing... Whatever he's thinking of doing though.
At least there's only two of them here and not the whole gang.

Hey, Rubes.
It's Em.
I just wanted to say something here because I know I've kind of been... not around a lot lately.
I spent a lot of time thinking about the right thing to do with everyone and I still don't know if I chose right, but I guess it's too late now.
But I think it's because of you that I chose to do anything at all.
We can't take back anything that's happened, and we have to live with the consequences of it all for the rest of our lives.
But because of everything you taught me, I'm okay with the rest of my life taking a long, long time to get here.
This sounds stupid and sappy and I'm not gonna apologize for that. It also probably sounds a little scary?
Like I'm about to leave or something.
But I'm not doing that. I'm not going to cut and run when I don't know what's going to happen next.
I have a family here, I have a wife here. And we've gone through some problems, but it's because of you that I actually know how to handle them now.
So, um.
I guess what I'm saying is thank you. From the bottom of my heart.
I never thought a year ago I would be saying this to anyone, much less you, Ruby Rose.
My sister.
Love you always.
Also I think I finally realized I was crushing on your sister for a while in the middle there but don't tell anyone that part.
It's Em.

Hey Em,
It's Rubes.
It's... I don't think there's really a right or wrong choice here to make. I think all we can do is do what our heart tells us is best. And... I'm glad you decided to do something over nothing. It says a lot about who you've become, who you are now. And I like her a lot.
Wait wait wait wait
